Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery Tunic. Korvettenkap

An extremely nice privately purchased Tunic for a Kriegsmarine Korvettenkapitan in the Coastal Artillery.
Tailored in a smooth grey green herringbone twill, there are four pockets with faux pleats and gently formed scalloped flaps with grey coloured steel Kriegsmarine buttons. The left breast pocket has loops for three awards whilst a machine embroidered Kriegsmarine eagle in golden thread on a grey green backing sits above the right pocket.
Closed by four matching Kriegsmarine buttons, of particular note is the open lay flat collar allowing wear with a shirt and tie. Both sleeves have been period lengthened with identical cloth although a colour difference is apparent.
The shoulder boards are removable for washing and held in place through loops and secured with a single button and screw post. Correct for the rank, they carry the Coastal Artillery winged cannon shell cypher.
Unlined for use in summer European conditions, both Tunic and insignia are in very good condition.
