Flak Fuse Transit Case

Ideal as a backdrop for any display, this sturdy transit case for Flak fuses measures 36x36x18 cms and is free from damage, showing only four or five woodworm holes.
Dated September 1944 on the inner lid label, the case is lined with zinc to protect the 25 Zeitzunder S/30 fuses it would have carried. These were clockwork fuses adjustable up to 30 seconds and intended to explode at altitude, a shell climbing at 1000 per second.
Overall condition is very good with one long V shaped splinter missing on the left side which may actually have been done to ease handling.
