German Army M43 Cap

Now a surprising difficult piece to find, this Heer M43 Field Cap (Einheitsfeldmutze) is a textbook example of the type issued to NCO’s and other ranks.
Constructed in a heavy field grey wool, it has the correct functional flaps, secured at the front by two grey pebbled buttons above which sits a hand applied trapezoid with BeVo weave eagle over the national rosette.
The cloth is completely free from moth or other damage with the nap still present, the only point of note being rust from the vent grommets which has slightly affected the cloth surrounding them.
The peak (visor) has now become typically soft but sits correctly when displayed on a head.
Inside, the grey cotton lining is without tears but shows some rust speckling from the grommets. Stamped 58 and 1944
A scarce cap in overall very good condition.
