WW11 British Army String Vest

A very good example of the British String Vest, this being the alternative pattern with cloth shoulder straps for improved comfort.
Free of damage, the vest is without a label, this often being removed after issue.
Part of the layered clothing system these vests could be worn next to the skin but are more commonly seen worn over the flannel shirt.
Often associated with use by Airborne troops.
