RAF 1930 Pattern Flying Helmet 1937 Dated

Quite the most superb example of the 1930 Pattern RAF Flying Helmet I have ever owned, this particular piece is made even more desirable by the 1937 dated Air Ministry label showing that the pattern remained in production after the arrival of the B Type in 1935.
Overall condition is very good. The leather remains soft with all the original colour and without scuff or scratches. Both ear flaps have their press fasteners and open to expose the hard plastic or Bakelite retainers for receivers or Gosport tube. The chinstrap, buckle and rear strap for the flying goggles are all present and free from damage.
Inside, the chamois lining is soft and clean showing modest use only. The name “Chambers” is visible and the label is clear. A size 2, it displays well on a male display head.
The only point of note is light wear to the brown velvet either side of the chinstrap.
It would be difficult to upgrade this Helmet
