WW1 British Army Soft Peaked Trench Cap

A very nice example of a 1917 dated British other ranks soft peaked trench cap in a good size 7.
Overall condition is very good but with two moth holes which I have shown in the pictures. The coarse woollen khaki cloth retains much of the nap with the cap generally showing very little wear.
The peak has six rows of stitching providing the only stiffening. Above the peak sits the thin leather adjustable chinstrap, held in place by two brass general service brass buttons. A very good Royal Artillery slider badge is in place, this example having the rotating wheel normally associated with an officer’s badge.
Inside, the cap is completely lined in a black oil cloth which shows very light loss in the crown area but leaving the paint stamps with the size, date and Inspectors WD over “O” very clear.
