SA Prize Honour Dagger Etched " 1 Nordmark Treffen
An extremely rare SA Prize Honour Dagger with the obverse to the blade etched “1. Nordmark – Treffen 25 – 26 Mai 1935, Kiel”.
Made by the sought after manufacture Gustave Voss and displaying the Wolf’s head logo, I have been unable to locate a similar example available anywhere today, the last being offered by Hermann Historica in 2012.
Never before in a collection, the dagger came to me with the blade heavily coated in a solid grease. Careful initial cleaning has revealed a beautiful and undamaged blade with the usual draw marks and only minor marking in the Ricasso region of the blade. The etchings display a high degree of the orginal darkened finish.
The crossguard and pommel are nickel and have never been disturbed, the obverse of the crossguard stamped Nm with the owner’s number. The grip one bruise, with the nickel eagle and SA enamelled logo still in place.
The scabbard shows wear to the finish and although the upper nickel fitting shows another hand etched number (19679) the level of patina matches the dagger exactly.
The hanging strap and belt loop were not originally with the dagger and were added by me for completeness.
A highly desirable dagger for the discerning collector
Regrettably I will only be able to ship this to an address within the EU.
