RFC Field Service Cap / Side Cap / Overseas Cap

A really very nice example of an other ranks quality Royal Flying Corps Field Service Cap, in overall very good condition.
Made of a heavy whipcord wool material, the Cap retains its original colour and is completely free from moth or other damage. Both side flaps are held in place by a male press fastener with a petal shaped female fastener, secured inside by a domed steel stud.
Both buttons are general service which is absolutely in keeping with the period, these caps appearing to have these or RFC buttons.
The RFC cap badge is in very good condition with the reverse marked “Roden Bros Toronto” “Reg 1917”, obviously suggesting this was worn by a Canadian member of the Royal Flying Corps.
The interior is also in very good condition with the cloth sweatband still showing the remains of two service numbers. The lining appears to be a water resistant cotton or oilskin.
Now very hard to find, especially in this condition.
